چکیده

Abstract Single crystalline tungsten was irradiated by the medium-mass ion Si with 7.5 MeV and high mass-ion W 20.3 up to a calculated peak damage level of 0.04 dpa 0.5 dpa. The obtained dislocation structure zone investigated transmission electron microscopy systematically compared each other. Bright-field kinematical images were taken under four different two-beam diffraction conditions g = −200, 020, −110, 110 close [100] axis. observed depth position is in good agreement SRIM profiles. structures at region because there levels are comparable. Damage studies on irradiated tungsten by helium and argon ions in a plasma focus device

Damage of tungsten due to helium and argon ions of a PF device was studied. Tungsten samples were irradiated by 20 shots of the plasma focus device with argon and helium as working gases, separately. The tungsten surface was analyzed by SEM, before and after irradiation. SEM revealed dense blisters with diameters of a few hundred nanometers, on the samples which were irradiated by helium ions, ...

Elastic trapping of dislocation loops in cascades in ion-irradiated tungsten foils.

Using in situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM), we have observed nanometre scale dislocation loops formed when an ultra-high-purity tungsten foil is irradiated with a very low fluence of self-ions. Analysis of the TEM images has revealed the largest loops to be predominantly of prismatic 1/2〈111〉 type and of vacancy character. The formation of such dislocation loops is surprising since is...

Radiative Recombination and Photoionization Data for Tungsten Ions. Electron Structure of Ions in Plasmas

Theoretical studies of tungsten ions in plasmas are presented. New calculations of the radiative recombination and photoionization cross-sections, as well as radiative recombination and radiated power loss rate coefficients have been performed for 54 tungsten ions for the range W–W. The data are of importance for fusion investigations at the reactor ITER, as well as devices ASDEX Upgrade and EB...

Dielectronic recombination of xenonlike tungsten ions

Dielectronic recombination (DR) of xenonlike W20+ forming W19+ has been studied experimentally at a heavy-ion storage ring. A merged-beams method has been employed for obtaining absolute rate coefficients for electron-ion recombination in the collision-energy range 0–140 eV. The measured rate coefficient is dominated by strong DR resonances even at the lowest experimental energies. At plasma te...

Formation of dislocation dipoles in irradiated graphite

Recently, we have proposed a dislocation dipole accumulation model to explain the irradiation-induced amorphization of graphite. However, the structure of dislocation dipole in the hexagonal networks is still an open question at the atomic-level. In this paper, we propose a possible formation process of the dislocation dipole. © 2001 Elsevier Science. All rights reserved
